Hi,
In the market for a used road or commuter type bike to bike to work. Looking to spend under $200. Can someone recommend a good used bike shop that is in San Francisco? Thanks so much!

i regarding the place on 14th, next to the hush hush . .. . I went in there hours after my bike seat was stolen to try and replace it. . . and then I found my very own bike seat. . . they aren't careful about not selling stolen stuff, to say the least.

I've heard the bike hut down by SBC park does a better job of not selling stolen stuff. I think they have good deals too.

I like the bike hut and I got a used xtracycle attachment there installed for $300. I would also cruise craigslist and be patient and then also try bayareabikes.com they have a shop on grand in west oakland. They have really good deals on some used bikes and they have w. oakland prices....

I got a garry fisher bike on craigslist for $100. and after I changed tyres it kicked ( and still does) ass !
        • It's all about craigslist.

            Shit yeah,
heres another CL success story: I once got a Diamond back hybrid city bike for $50 bucks, with a U lock and a helmet. It needed a new seat, which I already had. You just gotta be patient and check it daily, and be ready to go down there that day with cash.
I also just put a wanted ad for a bike rack so I could take some bikes to burningman. I woman emails me the next day, and she had just got a new one and was going to toss the old one. She just wants to get rid of it for free. Would I come down to her work to pick it up she says, and I was like, "is the pope catholic?" The rack has been to 3 burns and about 4 states.
