I understood this to be debunked? The bikers framed the motorist?
any links or evidence for or against would be appreciated -

Re: Motorists Attacks Berkeley Critical Mass
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 6:41 PM"Debunked" based on what? Do you take at face value everything the cops and the mainstream media say?
If you want to believe that people threw their bikes in front of a van just so they can frame the motorist for whatever purpose, then fine. fyi, i was in front of the van when it rolled over three bikes and the ankle of one of the bikes' owners was trapped underneath the bikes and about to be rolled over by the van's wheel as she struggled in tears to get free. i was trying to help pull her out while the driver kept stepping on the gas pedal and moving forward, inches away from running over her ankle. My bike fell also fell in front of the van in that process and me and my bike was next in line to be crushed if he had kept going.
Btw, we found out later that the Dick Cheney-lookalike driver of the van, Harlan Head, was a member of the Grand Jury in the witch hunt of Josh Wolf. -

Well... beyond the aggressive attitude and complete hearsay, I would have liked a more respectful response that provided information rather than defensiveness. If that is the case, I have now heard the story from one person that differs from all the others I had heard. I have no opinion or thoughts either way, I just was wondering the truth of the matter.
I don't take the stuff at face value, but without any evidence or proof to the contrary, why should I doubt what they are reporting?
Anyhoo.. I appreciate your story. I just haven't heard corroborating evidence and the only stuff I had heard pinned the bikers as framing the dude. I have zero information on this. Now I have all the news, and one triber. I just want to see an article or story on it, frankly. -

Re: Motorists Attacks Berkeley Critical Mass
Tue, October 30, 2007 - 2:30 PMnot to be a skeptic, but I might think that the BCLU (can a bike have liberties or only people???) has an agenda, and none of the linked information was sited or sourced. I think this is a situation of he said she said, or more to the point... the angry, ugly as hell jerk of a car driver believes one thing, and the cyclists believe another. I am no fan of cars, I am a big fan of cordial mass'ing.... but it is just so hard to read truth through angled agendas and half truths.
Oh well... I really appreciate the conversation and links. THANKS!

Re: Motorists Attacks Berkeley Critical Mass
Wed, January 30, 2008 - 3:07 PMI was there also and Pedal's account is entirely accurate. This guy (Harlan Head) was impatient and angry and self-righteous, and thought he could make a point by hitting his throttle as soon as the light changed. He got tired after wating for the long light cycle at the Marin/The Alameda intersection and thought he could surge through the intersection and that we'd let him go. He knew a bit about the Mass rides, shouting out his window at one point: "I'm tired of you people." I'd also point out this was a month after the Susan Ferrando minivan incident out in Frisco.
