Entry level? re-entry level? too over-the-hill to get up the hill? Let's go for some fun city rides and build our stamina, while having a blast.
I'm not ready for critical mass, but I'd love to get there.

Beginner too!
07/05I just got a bike, and have been practicing for a while. Critical Mass is great cause those of us on bikes take back the streets! I am going to the next one as I feel there is only one way to know, and thats to do it!
Tho any ideas for rides are most welcome. I love being on my bike, its the best feeling. No more waiting for the bus!
Happy Trails!

The Mission, too. Near 22nd/Mission.
Although I ride CritMass, I have no qualms doing easier (less "agro") rides around town with other folks. There's a few newbies to bikes in the Mission who are in the same situation that you are -- and we've been occasionally getting together for morning coffee and a few miles of riding.
For us, because we have odd schedules, getting together at 9am is fine. But, we could also look at Sunday morning or afternoon rides.
BTW, I ride to work everyday and can tell you that beyond rush hours, you could easily ride around a LOT of SF, even as a beginner. -

The SF Bike Coalition also has a group of folks of varying levels who do rides on weekends. And, there's one group specifically set-up for women only. Those are worth considering, just to get a taste of group biking.
