as always, i'm quite excited for next week's ride. the summer rides are always so glorious!
So... I have been going to both berkeley and SF rides for over two years now with an attendance rate of ~90%. When I first started going, I had no friends nor acquaintances. While I don't have many friends in general, almost all of the people I know are through CM, and it's been quite fun picking up new associations cumulatively over the months... However, it's a slow process. I smile at everyone, often engage in small talk. But sometimes it's a challenge to make a connection (you know that odd part in the conversation, once you've already gotten past "I'm so happy to be here!" "I know! I love this!!")... While someone recently encouraged me to get the guts to make non-daterape pickup lines (you know, like, "what's your favorite book?"...), I'm still too bashful to actively badger people into friendliness in person. But online is a whole other story (we can hide behind a mask of pixels and unreal-time communication delay)...
So, I'm badgering you. Let's have some sort of meet and greet at Peewee Herman Plaza beforehand! I honestly almost always sit and eat my nut butter sandwich by myself the whole time.
Cheers!

Re: meet and greet
07/24I usually get a slice and a few pints down at extreme pizza accross from Road Rage before the mass, then pick up one more for the road. sometimes I hit Zeitgiest beforehand if I have time. anyway if peeps want to meet up, then someone call out a location...

Re: meet and greet
09/14The San Francisco ride is always the Friday of the Month.
Meet at 5:30 at Justin (Pee-Wee) Herman Plaza-- Between the Embarcadero BART Station and the Ferry Building
The ride usually takes off around 6:00, but like any organized coincidence, it sometimes leaves before 6:00, sometimes after 6:00. It depends on how much people yell I think...
This September Ride is the 13th Anniversary of Critical Mass! -
