  • The ride is *always* the last Friday of the month at 5:30pm at Justin Hermann Plaza (the plaza at the foot of Market Street in SF).
    • 5:30pm being a gathering time. Having done about 15 of these CMs, I've only seen 1 actually leave PeeWee Herman Plaza before 6pm.

The reason I bring this up? A friend of mine decided to finally join CM for his first time several months ago. He arrived at 5:30pm and only saw a few bicyclists, got discouraged thinking it wasn't happening ... and left.
      • so, its raining pretty hard, do you guys think its worth going???
please write back soon! its already 5:10pm....
        • I actually rode in CritMass last night. SMALL group. Devin, you were at that point when you had to decide if the rain would hinder the venture or not. Almost all of us were thinking the same thing around 5 when that huge deluge of rain looked a bit daunting. When the rain let up at 5:30, I threw on my rain gear and rode downtown.

Less than 100 people. Actually, when I arrived it was less than 50. But, we rode. And it was fun. Simple, easy. I saw 2 people slide and fall from not paying attention to where the MUNI rails were located. And, yep, it rained during the ride, but nothing too severe.

It was the perfect way to start the night -- I went from CM to a dinner, then 3 parties.

          Anyone else go?
          • I did end up going actually, I was the one without a coat in just a tshirt lol. it was REALLY fun, very small but REALLY fun! hope I dont get a cold, which may very well happen.....but it made my new years eve rock! the rain was crazy but I actually preferred it to the cold dry wind I encountered riding home by myself! brrrr...I should invest in some rain gear....
